There are 2 basic problems that prevent typical Barcelona wooden windows and doors from being double-glazing,

1. Most windows and doors have 3 or more panes of glass separated by thin wooden bars. This means that ordinarily 3 or 4 double-glazing units would be required for each door or window. Double glazed units because of the work involved in making them have a minimum price no matter how small the pane required. Hence the price would normally be 3 or 4 times this price and hence very expensive.

2. Double-glazing units are far thicker than the original glass in your windows, some glass is as thin as 1mm, and our units are at least 14mm, this means that the double glazed unit will be proud of the wood.

We have very simple solutions to these problems which mean that one single double glazed units is installed per door or casement, but we do not however remove the separating horizontal bars From the inside the window or door appears as before, see photos, and from the outside after installation you can see the wooden frame but once it is painted, (we can do this for an additional fee but often people prefer to do it themselves) see photo, it is not easy to spot any difference.

In your flat
We are very conscious of how important it is to people who have any works done in their home that it is done quickly and with minimal mess.

To install double-glazing in your home (or place of work) ordinarily takes one or two days.

The installation is fairly clean, we create little dust and remove all old glass etc and leave the area clean and tidy. We will fit in with your timetable within reason with regards the installation.
Once the units are installed we will need to return about one week later to trim the mastic, which normally only takes an hour or so.
